Do you have a favourite colour? I have to be frank, to choose a favourite is particularly challenging and transports me to that scene in Runaway Bride when Julia Roberts sat down with different types of eggs to determine her favourite style!
Over the years, colour psychology has become an integral part of many creatives lives.
Why? Colour is a form of communication, a display of one’s personality. Colour can make or break anything from a brand to the right outfit? Don’t think so?
Close your eyes for a moment and imagine, you just got a flat tyre in the middle of nowhere at midnight. There are only two houses nearby, one is a painted brown, grey and black with heavy wrought iron trimmings and mood lighting. The other is a pale yellow, with soft blue trimmings and brightly lit. Remember it’s midnight, you are in the middle of nowhere and these are your only options to get help!
Which house did you immediately choose and which one did you choose after weighing both options? Let me know in the comments below!
Neither answer is wrong or right, it’s completely subjective- but somewhere in that decision making process, you were influenced by what qualities you associate with the scene and the colours.
Just a fun teaser for you.
Check out the colour pin below? Are any of those your favourite? If the answer is yes, does it reflect your personality?
Have a great weekend!
