Firstly, on my daily routine, I do not carry a handbag. I prefer a backpack for numerous reasons. The main one being, my shoulder started to give way with all the weight of my handbag, regardless of shoulder switching religiously.
Growing up I could never understand the mystery of older ladies handbags and the ADULTHOOD hit.
And as the years went by, my need to have a little bit of everything increased. Basics for accidents, makeup for touch ups, pens for forms and making notes when the creative bug bites etc.
So let’s fast forward to the now? What is REALLY in my backpack?
- Medicine bag
- Wet Ones
- Pens
- Notebooks
- Chargers
- Headphones ( Never ever get in a taxi in Trinidad without headphones)
- Hand Sanitizer
- Makeup (Lipstick, mascara, eyeliner)
- Purse
- Snack (Nuts, apples…. healthy stuff)
- Water Bottle
- Selfie Light
- Keys
- Knife
- Pepper Spray
- Powermints and their wrappers
At least once a week I get asked, “Why does your bag look so big?”.
THIS IS WHY!
Backpacks are the answer. They hold more than a handbag, evenly distribute the weight and are far more secure than walking through town with a handbag in your elbow.
Bonus:
They come in all different styles and patterns, your hands are free to move and you have room for more stuff.
Also…. DRUMROLL PLEASE!
Backpacks make you look younger.
You’re welcome!
Have a great weekend!
